Summer Staff Housing 2008
Open to IVGID seasonal staff who are high school graduates. Graduates under 18 addressed on a case by case basis.
Dorm rooms are available at Sierra Nevada College from June 1 – August 2. The dorms are co-ed and rooms are 3 or 4 person occupancy – same sex. Due to the limited number of rooms, there will be no single rooms available, no exceptions. Each room has a closet and is furnished with extra long twin beds, dressers, desks, a microwave and a small refrigerator. There is a cable hookup, internet connection and a phone for local calls. If you would like to place long distance calls you will need a calling card. The lounge in the dorm has a ping-pong table, big screen TV, foosball and vending machines.
Fees:
- Security Deposit: $250/refundable. Payable to SNC upon reservation of a room.
- Cleaning Deposit: $100/refundable. Pay SNC upon check-in.
- Rent: $50 per pay period – will be deducted from paycheck. Please note meals are included in the cost of the rooms for five days a week. Meals include a continental breakfast and box lunch, if requested, so you can bring to work or save for after work.
Priority of room availability is first come, first serve for seasonal staff
Other:
- Alcohol and smoking are NOT allowed – even if you are of legal age
- $15 charge to replace lost keys
- Must clean own bedroom and bathroom and provide own sheets and towels
- Housing agreements are subject to SNC housing department’s rules and regulations
1) Contact your hiring supervisor if you are interested in a dorm room and they will advise Human Resources.
2) You may then contact Susan Johnson in Human Resources (775) 832-1263 to reserve a room. Susan will notify SNC to coordinate assignment of rooms.
Even though housing is provided through Sierra Nevada College, remember that you are an IVGID employee and a representative of IVGID at all times. Please act appropriately!
There are a number of resources available to help you find housing. The local newspaper North Lake Tahoe Bonanza and the lakewide newspapers have an online version of the classifieds at www.tahoe.com or www.housingconnection.com for searches by category, geographic location, price, number of bedrooms. Also, visit the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce at www.laketahoechamber.com/relocation for helpful links. - Expect to pay $300 - $500 per person a month for rent. It is common to have to pay the first month's rent and a security deposit upon signing a rental agreement.
